SweetBay, a thriving, pedestrian-friendly coastal community, announces BayView, a new phase of 235 homes to accommodate significant buyer demand.

Our mixed-use community has welcomed more than 300 homeowners since first opening. Construction is now underway to build an additional 235 single-family homes — both one-story and two-story floor plans — ranging from 1,695 to 3,303 square feet.

Homeowners at SweetBay find that the community’s appeal is directly attributed to its premier location that includes more than five miles of North Bay shoreline, the poolside amenities and pedestrian-friendly lifestyle. Soon, residents will have the option to walk to shops, restaurants and additional parks. The current expansion also includes the addition of a second community pool along with surrounding amenities and green space.

Residents can bike to the pool and swim for fun or exercise, lounge poolside or catch up on summer reading under the shade of an umbrella. Meanwhile, during the fall and winter months, neighborhood children can walk to school at University Academy, SweetBay’s top-ranking, K-8 public charter school.

Currently, 50 of the more than 200 homes scheduled to be built during this phase of expansion are sold. After relocating to Panama City from his native Georgia, homeowner Mark Moody chose SweetBay particularly because of the energy and kinship he felt among SweetBay residents. “It gives my wife Kelly and me great pleasure to live in a community where we know our neighbors and enjoy seeing them on a regular basis,” he says. Mark and Kelly get together with neighbors regularly for dinners and cookouts with each family bringing a dish for a potluck-style meal.

SweetBay provides lush green spaces and easy access to beautiful North Bay. The community’s nature trails wind through salt marsh and canopies of oak trees, draped with Spanish moss. These trails offer panoramic views of SweetBay’s five miles of shoreline and provide quick and easy access to North Bay and Florida’s Intracoastal Waterway. Many residents enjoy the water for paddle boarding or kayaking, while spending their free time fishing for the Bay’s redfish, snapper and king mackerel, either by boat or from one of SweetBay’s docks.

The current expansion and new home-construction phase now makes these amenities and lifestyle choices available to more prospective homebuyers who can choose from nine thoughtfully designed floor plans. Like all of SweetBay’s home designs, the Anna Maria incorporates French doors and an abundance of windows enhancing natural light throughout the home. If you prefer more space, two-story floor plans like The Captiva and The St. George are both being built to provide up to five bedrooms, creating options for a study or home office. The St. George features indoor and outdoor living space, while those who choose The Captiva can expect deep porches and a backyard patio.
